Jazz Month and Black History Month

Some 10 years ago, we decided to consecrate January as our “Justice Month” at Plymouth Church.  Each year, we choose a special theme and invite guest speakers and preachers who speak to that theme.
Recently, our new Jazz Ministry recommended that we consecrate February as our “Jazz Month,” choosing a special theme and inviting special, guest musicians.
Of course, February is also Black History Month, and so our theme for this inaugural Jazz Month and Black History Month is “Celebrating The Prophetic Music of Black America.”
Our services this month are:
February 2nd: The Prophetic Music of Stevie Wonder
Featuring Destiny Muhammad aka “The Harpist from the Hood”
February 9th: The Prophetic Music of the Spirituals
Featuring Lady Bianca
February 16th: The Prophetic Music of Jazz
Featuring Roger Glenn and Aaron Germain
February 23rd: Mardi Gras Sunday

Featuring our annual New Orleans-style Jazz Band
I hope that you’ll plan to join us for these very special services, and I hope you’ll invite your family and friends.
Blessings to you at the start of this Jazz Month and Black History Month!

                   - Pastor Marjorie
